What Comes Next? Array Hurray

What do you notice? What do you wonder? What comes next?

5 arrays. First, a 2 by 2 red square. Next, a 2 by 4 orange rectangle. Then, a 4 by 4 yellow square. Next, a 4 by 8 red rectangle. Last, an 8 by 8 orange square.

Draw or use objects to show what the next four pictures would look like. Describe how you know what comes next.
