Guess My Rule: Inches, Feet & Yards

Objects inside the circle: a shoe that measures 12 inches on a ruler and yardstick. A row of pattern blocks that is 8 inches + 4 inches. 2 cans of tomato soup that measure 1 foot. A hand that is 12 inches long. A present that is 12 inches long. Objects outside the circle: A vine that is more than 24 inches long. A book that is 11 inches long. A marker that is 9 inches long. A skateboard that is 18 inches long. A strawberry that is 3 inches long.
  1. Some things belong in the circle, and some things do not. There is a rule to decide what belongs in the circle. What is that rule?
  2. Which objects belong in the circle? Circle them. How do you know? (Hint: Think about the rule!)
