Guess My Rule: Folding Shapes

Inside the circle: A rectangle with a dotted line through the middle. A heart with a vertical dotted line through the middle. A triangle with equal sides and a vertical dotted line through the middle. A rhombus with a horizontal dotted line through the middle. A hexagon with a vertical dotted line through the middle. Outside the circle: 2 parallelograms, each with a dotted line making unequal parts. 2 triangles, each with a dotted line making unequal parts. A blob with a dotted line making unequal parts.
  1. Some shapes belong in the circle, and some shapes do not. What is the rule to be in the circle?
  2. Draw another shape that belongs in the circle.
  3. Draw another shape that belongs outside of the circle.

Think about what happens when you fold each shape along the dotted line.

Make your own rule, using shapes. You can use the circle below or draw your own.

Write some examples that belong inside your circle and some examples that belong outside your circle.
