Which One Doesn’t Belong? Kite Festival

Look at this set of four pictures. Decide which one doesn’t belong with the other three. Use math words to describe your thinking. There are many ways to think about each one!

A. shows a double 10-frame that goes up and down. It has 4 green kites (2 on the left and 2 on the right). Then it has 8 orange kites (4 on the left and 4 on the right). And then it has 4 red kites (2 on the left and 2 on the right). B. shows a double 10-frame that goes side to side. It has 5 green kites in the top row. The bottom row has 5 orange kites then 5 red kites. C. shows 2 10-frames that go up and down. The frame on the left is filled with orange kites. The frame on the right has 1 orange kite and 4 green kites. D. shows a group of 4 green kites, a group of 6 orange kites, and a group of 5 red kites.
