How Many? Apple Seeds

There are many things to count and many ways to think about the picture!

Find as many ways as you can to answer the question “How many?”

Someone cut an apple into 2 equal pieces. On one piece, the spaces for seeds make a flower shape with 5 petals. 3 seeds make a group and 2 seeds make another group. 1 seed is by itself. The cutting board has 7 stripes. 4 stripes are a dark color and 3 are light.
  • What can you count in the picture? How many are there?
  • Show someone else what you counted and how you did it. Ask them to count something else in the picture and show you how they did it.

Challenge

Make a drawing showing something that you counted.
