What Comes Next: Silly Shapes

Smiling shapes in a row. a blue square. a red square. a green triangle. an orange triangle. a purple square. a green square. a red rectangle. a yellow triangle.
  1. What patterns do you see?
  2. What would come next? And next after that? Can you tell, or make a drawing to show?
  3. What can you do with your hands to make the same pattern? Show someone in your family and see whether they can copy you. Then have them do something different for you to copy.
  4. Make the same kind of pattern with toys, food, pieces of paper, or shapes you draw.
  5. Tell someone in your family about your pattern, and ask them what comes next!
